About Me

As a Mental Health Counselor, I strive to create a supportive, empathetic environment where clients feel safe exploring their thoughts, emotions, and body sensations. My therapeutic approach is integrative and flexible, drawing from Narrative Therapy, Self‑Compassion practices, CBT, ACT, ERP, CPT, Safe Exercise at Every Stage, Animal‑Assisted Therapy, and—because healing doesn’t have to be heavy all the time—laughter and the occasional animal companion. I’m also a Certified Animal‑Assisted Intervention Specialist, which allows me to incorporate animals in intentional, evidence‑informed ways that support emotional regulation, connection, and nervous‑system safety. I have experience working with individuals navigating anxiety, mood disorders, eating disorders and disordered eating, trauma, life transitions, and deeper self‑exploration.

Before becoming a counselor, I spent over a decade as a non‑diet, weight‑neutral Dietitian. I am also a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist through the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals. I recently completed my Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Southern New Hampshire University and became a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate.

As a Dietitian, I’ve had the honor of supporting adolescents and adults struggling with eating disorders in a variety of settings, including eating disorder treatment facilities, home infusion, and pediatric specialty clinics. My nutritional philosophy is rooted in Medical Nutrition Therapy, Intuitive Eating, the Division of Responsibility, Safe Exercise at Every Stage, and a firmly non‑diet perspective.

I’m also passionate about mentoring the next generation of dietitians and have served as a dietetic preceptor for Eastern Michigan University.

Across all my roles, my focus remains the same: creating a trauma‑informed, collaborative, affirming, and inclusive space where people from all walks of life feel welcomed and supported.
